3D printed Easter name tags
for every basket

Type each child's name, keep the rounded Baloo 2 font and the outline plate, and print a pastel name tag in about 15 minutes. Tie it to the Easter basket, stand it in front of an egg cup, or put four names on one plate and print the whole family at once.

For a tag you can tie on, switch the base to keychain. It adds a ring hole.

Why a printed name tag beats a paper one

Easter baskets come out once a year and a paper tag doesn't survive the egg hunt in wet grass. A printed tag of 5 to 7 cm weighs about 5 grams, doesn't mind rain and goes back in the box with the basket for next year. Kids also stop arguing about which basket is theirs.

The generator above starts with the outline base in Baloo 2: a plate that follows the letter contour, so the tag has the shape of the name itself. Baloo 2 has round, thick strokes that print cleanly at small sizes, which matters when the tag is only 2 cm tall. It's free to design and preview. You pay when you download the STL or 3MF (see pricing).

Four ways to use them

Basket tag

Switch to the keychain base for a ring hole and tie the tag to the handle with ribbon. Set the hole to 30 to 40% of the tag height so a 5 mm ribbon fits through.

Egg-cup name

Print the name about 4 cm wide with the standing base and place it in front of each egg cup at Easter breakfast. It doubles as a place card and stays on the table.

Name for a plastic or wooden egg

Print a small outline name about 3 cm wide and 1.5 mm thick and glue it to a large plastic or wooden egg. The flat back sits well on a gently curved surface.

Egg hunt markers

One colour per child. Hide eggs next to a tag in their colour, or glue a name onto a stick and put it in the grass to mark each child's area in the garden.

Sizes and print times

Typical values at 0.2 mm layer height on a Bambu Lab A1 mini or similar. Scale to the final size in your slicer.

Four tags use about 40 cents of filament. Short names like Mia or Ben come out taller at the same width than long names like Maximilian, so keep one width for everyone or one height, not both.

Print pastel tags for the whole family

  1. 1

    Design one name per file

Type the first name, check the preview and download. Then type the next name. Each tag is its own file, so you can pick a different colour for each child later.

  2. 2

    Pick two pastel colours

The 3MF export puts the letters and the outline plate on separate filament slots. Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer open it with two colours assigned: white letters on pastel yellow, mint or lilac look good. With an AMS nothing else is needed.

  3. 3

No AMS? Change filament at a layer

Set a pause at the layer where the letters start, usually right above the plate thickness. Swap to the letter colour and resume. The multicolour guide without AMS shows the exact steps.

  4. 4

Put all tags on one plate

Import every file into the same slicer project and arrange them. Four tags print in about an hour, and the colour change happens once for all of them.

Pastel colour pairs that read well

Contrast matters more than the colour itself. A name in pale pink on pale yellow is hard to read from a metre away.

Honest limits

The generator makes text, not shapes. There is no bunny, egg or chick outline, and you can't print on a real eggshell. A 3D printed egg with a name on it means printing an egg model from a CAD tool or a model site and gluing the name onto it.

Printed tags are decoration, not toys. For children under three, a small tag is a choking hazard. Tie it high on the basket handle or use a bigger tag, and keep loose name pieces away from toddlers.

Cost for a family and when Unlimited makes sense

A single download is $4.99, personal use. Four children means four files, so $19.96. One month of Unlimited costs $9.99 and covers every name you want, plus saved projects and bulk export of up to 100 names as one ZIP. That's the better deal from three names up, or if you're printing tags for a whole kindergarten group.

If you plan to sell Easter tags at a spring market or on Etsy, you need Unlimited anyway: it's the plan that includes commercial use. The 3D prints that sell guide has margins for small seasonal items like these.

Questions people ask

How do I make a 3D printed Easter basket name tag?

Type the name in the generator on this page, switch the base to keychain so the tag has a ring hole, and download the STL or 3MF. Print it at 0.2 mm, which takes about 15 to 20 minutes for a 6 cm tag, and tie it to the basket handle with ribbon.

Can I 3D print an Easter egg with a name on it?

Not in one piece with this tool. The generator makes the name, not the egg. Print the name small and flat, about 3 cm wide, and glue it onto a plastic or wooden egg, or print an egg model from a CAD tool and add the name there.

Which font is best for Easter tags?

Baloo 2, the default on this page, has thick round strokes that stay readable at 2 cm height and look friendly. Pacifico is a good script option because the generator joins script letters into one piece. Avoid thin fonts like Great Vibes for small tags.

How do I print Easter tags in two colours?

Export the 3MF. It has the letters and the plate on separate filament slots, so Bambu Studio and OrcaSlicer assign two colours automatically and an AMS prints them with no setup. Without an AMS, add a pause at the first letter layer and swap filament by hand.

How many tags fit on one print plate?

Easily 10 to 15 tags of 6 cm on an 18 cm bed like the A1 mini. A family batch of four takes about an hour. Import each name's file into one slicer project and print them together.

Are 3D printed Easter tags safe for small children?

They're decoration, not toys. A small tag can be a choking hazard for children under three, so fix it high on the basket and keep loose tags out of reach. For older kids, PLA tags are fine to handle.
